Description: Via Verde Varesina - Negli anni'80 del secolo scorso anche il territorio della provincia di Varese ha visto accrescere l'attenzione alla tematica del trekking ed in particolare alle prealpi di confine con Svizzera e Piemonte.Proprio per rispondere a questa esigenza, è in questo periodo (1984) che l'allora Ente Amministrazione Provinciale di Varese (ora Provincia di Varese) con la collaborazione delle sezioni del Club Alpino Italiano di Germignaga, Laveno Mombello, Luino, Varese e dell’Associazione Nazionale Alpini sezione di Luino ideava un itinerario di trekking, da percorrere in più tappe di diversi giorni, attraverso i laghi e le prealpi varesine, decidendo concordemente di chiamarlo: “sentiero 3V – Via Verde Varesina”.Sostanzialmente si voleva collegare l’area montana a nord della nostra provincia con il Sentiero Europeo E1, che in quegli anni giungeva dal nord Europa terminando nei pressi di Porto Ceresio (a Brusino Arsizio-Svizzera), con la sponda piemontese del Lago Maggiore ove arrivava la Grande Traversata Alpina (GTA).La lunghezza delle 10 tappe storiche (anni '80) della 3V è di 143,5 chilometri.A queste dieci tappe tradizionali sono state aggiunte nel corso degli anni successivi altre cinque varianti che misurano 56,5 chilometri, estendendo così i percorsi della Via Verde Varesina a ben 200 chilometri.
